Interrelationships
In this unit on interrelationships the interactions between humans and pathogens and between organisms in an ecosystem were analyzed and investigated. The systems evolved to protect the human body from foreign substances and organisms, the immune system, and how it functions was a major part of this unit. The journal critique I did was concerned with the minute differences in the composition of pathogens that can make them either invisible or a target to the immune system. I feel that I learned a lot about the immune system through this independent analyzing of research. Also explored in this unit was the complex web of interactions between organisms in an ecosystem and their effects on each other. The nitrogen cycle and the specific organisms crucial to the cycle were memorized and tested.
